Help and Support for Thames Gateway Chamber Members

News reached us last Friday that Thames Gateway Chamber had stopped trading and we are now working with the BCC and neighbouring accredited Chambers in order to support all the members involved.

As the BCC accredited Chamber for East Kent , Channel Chamber has the resources and capacity to service all members needs and with a host of support services (local and national) at our disposal we are fully prepared to help whenever its needed.

Local businesses and chamber members (networkers & non-networkers) are invited to the first Channel Chamber event of 2011 – an informal social evening (6pm – 8pm) at The Pullman Wine Bar, Church Street in Folkestone.

If you haven’t been into Folkestone Town for a while you’ll discover that the Pullman has undergone extensive reburbishment and offers a warm, comfortable and relaxed atmosphere in which to meet many new business contacts.

The Future at Dungeness

The Department for Energy and Climate Change has agreed to hear local people’s views about the future of nuclear power at Dungeness and a public meeting is being held on Saturday 22 January (10.30am – 12.30pm) at the Assembly Rooms, Church Approach, New Romney.

If any Chamber members can’t make it and want to express their views please email Channel Chamber this week and we’ll ensure these are taken to this meeting.

Thanet District Council Budget


Thanet District Council are asking Channel Chamber members in the District for their input to help them shape their budget expenditure for the year ahead.

This is a real opportunity for many small businesses to have a say in what goes on locally in 2011 but any responses are needed by the deadline – Friday 21st January.

The survey is online - www.thanet.gov.uk/budget or can be collected from any Thanet library or TDC office, or can be requested by e-mailing consultation@thanet.gov.uk or calling 01843 577120.
